February 18, 2002 2:00 PM Welcome to the Birmingham Web Project under High Speed Solutions.
We have been working feverishly to make the transfer as seamless as possible. To our knowledge, all is well. If you are still experiencing any problems with your e-mail or web-site, please feel free to give us a call at 205-969-0075.
We hope that you will notice a few improvements with the new system. All of your e-mail (that is through us) is now being virus scanned, and the speed of the web server should be noticeably faster.
We are looking forward to serving your needs for years to come.
Thank You.

February 2, 2002 8:00 PM Welcome to the new bham.net, hosted by High Speed Solutions
The Birmingham Web Project has been successfully moved over to High Speed Solutions. We have attempted to make this transfer
as seamless as possible, however, there are always a few problems that you just can't catch immediately, or during testing. Probably
the biggest change over everything is the way the email is handled on our servers. For those trying to get email that can't, here are
the settings you will need in order to get email.
POP3 Server: mail.bham.net
Username / Login Name: You email address (e.g. joe@bham.net)
Password: Your Password
For all those that emailed us your passwords, they have been changed. If you have not, we encourage you to do so. One other thing that
might be of some interest to those who check there mail on the road is our webmail system. You can get to this by going to http://mail.bham.net
in your browser. Same rules apply on the webmail system as on a pop3 client. Your username is your email address and your password is your normal password.
One last thing is a quick note about domains and web hosting. We have attempted to test and make sure that all domains and subdomains are working correctly.
The biggest change was the swap over from a Windows NT platform to a Linux platform for the server end. If your domain or something
on your website is not working, email us at support@highspd.net. If you have any other questions or comments please feel free
to email us or give us a call at (205)969-0075.
Thank you for your patience during this transfer,
High Speed Solutions Staff

January 25, 2002 5:25 PM Birmingham Web Project to Continue
The official announcement from High Speed Solutions.
The suspense is over about the Birmingham Web Project. After some time getting to know the folks at High Speed Solutions
it has been agreed to help them take over Birmingham Net and the Birmingham Web Project to keep them alive, vibrant and growing into the future.
I've been impressed with the folks at High Speed Solutions. Brad, Ed, Paul and all the folks there display the kind of enthusiasm, commitment and energy I had back 20 years ago.
I've listened to them discuss some of their ideas and plans and the network couldn't be in finer hands.
We're still working on finalizing the plans for the transition to make it as smooth and transparent as possible for everyone. All of the sites will be duplicated onto the new servers in a week or so (more specific details as they emerge). Once the servers are duplicated and ready to go, we'll change the DNS pointers to start accessing the new servers. Though we're trying to anticipate all the possible problems, those of you who've been with us for the past ten years know there is always some little detail that can catch you unawares. The majority of you should see no bumps or surprises except that your sites will probably operate smoother and faster than they do now.
I think everyone will find the High Speed folks a real pleasure to work with. I've enjoyed getting to know them and I can't imagine a finer team to take Birmingham Net into the future.
