September 3-5, 2010 - Introduction to Centering Prayer Retreat at Benedictine Retreat Center- Cullman, Al. Contact Sr. Therese Haydel at 256.734.8302 or retreats@shmon.org 


INTENSIVE RETREATS
Develop further the discipline of Centering Prayer and your relationship with God. There will be extended periods of Centering Prayer, dialogue sessions, and shared Lectio Divina.  Silence. Prerequisite: Introduction to Centering Prayer.

March 18-21, 2010 - Centering Prayer Contemplative Retreat at Benedictine Retreat Center- Cullman.  Sister Mary McGehee, OSB, will present reflections on the life of Hildegard of Bingen, a 12th century Benedictine visionary, using the art, music and writings of Hildegard.  This 4 day retreat will be framed in Centering Prayer and silence, but there will be group sharing.  Prerequisite: Intro to Centering Prayer.   Contact Sr. Therese Haydel at 256.734.8302 or retreats@shmon.org 

October 29-31, 2010 - Intensive Centering Prayer Retreat at Benedictine Retreat Center- Cullman- Contact Sr. Therese Haydel at 256.734.8302 or retreats@shmon.org 

8 OR 10 DAY INTENSIVE OR POST-INTENSIVE RETREAT
The 8 or10-Day Intensive is an in-depth experience in contemplative living and spirituality. The purpose of the retreat is to assist the participants in entering into a more intimate relationship with God and self. This is facilitated through the cultivation of a deep level of interior silence in a nurturing, supportive environment that combines both solitude and community.  The Post Intensive is a next step into a profound silence and stillness in order to facilitate a more intimate union with God. The 10-Day Intensive is a prerequisite for the Post Intensive.

FORMATION FOR CONTEMPLATIVE OUTREACH SERVICE
The purpose of the course is to help participants move towards greater clarity in their understanding of the essence of the Centering Prayer method. It is designed to provide practice in interiorizing and communicating the essential elements of the Centering Prayer method and thus being able to share it appropriately with others.  Prerequisites are attendance at an 8-Day or a 10-Day Intensive Retreat and the daily practice of Centering Prayer.
