BIEFF Student Video Expo is a nationwide competition for independently produced student videos at the college level. A separate competition for K-12 restricted to the State of Alabama, is also sponsored by BIEFF. BIEFF Student Video Expo Official Entry Form
METHOD OF SELECTION:
All entries are screened and judged by a volunteer group of educators and media
professionals. Judges will be evaluating style, creativity, continuity, theme development
and technical quality. Decisions of the judges are final.
A. REQUIRED ELEMENTS
All entries must include a one-page synopsis, videotape of production, and entry form with a check for $25.
If any element is missing, the entry will disqualified.
B. PRODUCTION DATES
Videos entered in the competition must have been produced after January 1, of the previous year and
received by March 1, of the contest year.
C. FORMAT
Videos must be submitted on new VHS tape, and recorded in the SP mode. They
can be produced on film, but must be dubbed to VHS. Audio must mixed to both
channels.
D. LENGTH, LANGUAGE AND RIGHTS
Productions are limited to 30 minutes. All entries must be in English, or have English
subtitles. Entries must include the rights release included for promotion use by BIEFF
Student Video Expo or possible broadcast by Alabama Public TV.
E. ENTRY DEADLINE AND FEES
Entry forms, synopses
and tapes must be received no later than March 1, of the cotest year. All entries must include a $25
