The Birmingham International Educational Film Festival is a non-profit organization with a history of providing educational opportunities to students in Alabama and across the nation. Check this website periodically for updates. Each year BIEFF sponsors the Student Video Expo.

BIEFF Student Video Expo has two competitions. Students K-12 divided into grade categories K-5, 6-8, 9-12, and BIF Salute from any grade level in the state of Alabama; the second competition is for college students nation wide. Plaques and certificates are awarded to finalists.

Our mission is to promote the use of video as a learning tool in the classroom, to improve the communication skills of students, and to educate students about the creative process of scripts, storyboards and video production.

BIEFF Student Video Expo is supported in part by
The Alabama State Council on the Arts, the Alabama Education Association, and Alabama Public Television, where the winning videos are broadcast each year. The Student Video Expo is administered by a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors.
