Alabama
Bird Records Committee
of Alabama Bird Observations

Records of birds observed
in Alabama should be submitted to Greg D. Jackson. The following
options are available:
1) Standard
mail: 2220 Baneberry Drive, Birmingham, AL 35244;
2) E-mail:
g_d_jackson@bellsouth.net;
and
3) Fax:
(205) 987-5167.
Details on unusual birds are required as indicated on the AOS Checklist.
Documentation may be needed on some species not marked on that list, if
the observation is of a bird out of usual season or region. If a
species is on the Alabama Bird Records Committee Review List, documentation
will be forwarded automatically to the Committee Secretary, eliminating
the need for an observer to submit two sets of material.
The ABRC Report
Form can be downloaded from this web page, and is a good template
for documentation. (Clicking on the link for the ABRC
Report Form will open a new browser window; to return to the AOS site,
simply close the window.) Any format is acceptable,
however, if the proper information is included. This may include
details on appearance, conditions of observation, separation from similar
species, observer experience, and the way notes and the report were prepared.
Submission of photographs and sketches, even if poor, is encouraged.
